Sutter County

Sutter County is known for the distinctive Sutter Buttes, which are volcanic lava domes rising above the surrounding plains. The area around the buttes is a popular destination for hiking and exploration.

But the buttes aren’t the only outdoor attraction Sutter County has to offer. Wetlands abound: Lake of the Woods State Wildlife Area and Gray Lodge Wildlife Area are both ideal spots for bird watching. Wake Island Water Park offers 80 acres of water-based activities, including wakeboarding and paddleboarding.
